A. The Root of Sickness and Disease
1. (Ps. 107:20) Why would God send a spiritual remedy (His Word) for physical problems (healing and deliverance from destruction)?
a. (Acts 10:38) The root of sickness and disease is spiritual – oppression of the devil.
~(Luke 13:16) “…whom Satan has bound…”
2. (1 John 3:8) Jesus came to destroy (loose) the works of the devil.
a. What are the works of the devil?
~(John 10:10 AMP) death, destruction and loss
~(ref. Gen. 2:17 Adam/Eve) Death is separation from God and His goodness. Life is separation from the devil and his works.
b. (Rom. 8:5-7) carnal mind brings death and spiritual mind brings life and peace.
~(Gal. 5:19-23 KJV)
c. (Heb. 2:14-15) subject to bondage through fear of death.
3. The spiritual root of sickness must plucked-up with spiritual weapons. “Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.”
