I.Raising Kingdom Kids
A. Purpose, Position and Priority of Children
1. (Gen. 1:26-28) God’s purpose for creating man was to expand His heavenly kingdom by reflecting, and replicating His ruler-ship in the earthly realm.
a. God’s primary purpose for children is to reflect and replicate His image, character and dominion in the earth for the expansion of the kingdom of God.
b. Children’s position is to be raised by godly parents whom they obey and honor.
c. Priority – children should be the fruit of a loving husband and wife.
~(Ps. 127:3-5 TPT)
2.(1 Cor. 11:3 AMP) God’s hierarchy.
a. (ref. Eph. 5:22, 25; 6:1) wives respect, husbands love, children obey and honor.
b. In the same way God knows women thrive off of her husband’s love, husbands thrive off of his wife’s respect, children thrive when they honor and respect their godly parents.
~Parents call the shots not the children.
c. Sibling rivalry. (Cain/Able; Jacob/Esau; Joseph/his brothers; Moses/Aaron; Prodigal son/his brother)
B. Children Obey and Honor
1. (Eph. 6:1-3) Obedience and honor (training/discipline)
a.Parents be honorable and lead.
b.Make sure marriage takes the front seat.
2. Disciplining children
a.(Prov. 6:20-23) “…the way of life.”
~The Bible and prayer should be present daily not just on Sunday. It’s the way of life!
b.(Prov. 13:24 AMP) proper discipline = love
~Love is spelled T.I.M.E

-12-18 Coaching
-18 and up Friend
c.(Prov. 19:18-19 GNT) discipline early
~Routine & boundaries provide security
d.(Prov. 22:6, 15 both AMP) rod of correction
e.(Prov. 23:13-14) don’t withhold discipline
f.(Prov. 29:15, 17 both AMP) rod and reproof
3. (Eph 6:4) Fathers don’t provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training of the admonition or fear of the Lord.
a.Physical or verbal abuse
b.Disciplining in anger (Jas. 1:20 AMP)
c.Spanking too hard, too often, too young, too old
d.Inconsistency in discipline (good or bad mood)
e. Disciplining for mistakes or forgetting vs. disobedience and defiance.
f.Disciplining in public or in front of other children
g.Neglect
h.Being unreasonable and legalistic
4. Close with story of male elephants.
