A.Stand in God’s Armor
1.(ref. 1 Tim. 6:12) “Fight the good fight of faith…”

B. Sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17b) “And take… the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.”
1.The verb “having” is used with the first 3 pieces of armor which means this is the state you should always be in. The verb “take” is used with the second 3 pieces of armor which means to pick up as needed.
2.“the sword of the Spirit” or the dagger the Spirit uses.
a.(Rev. 1:16; 2:12, 16; 19:11-16, 19-21) Jesus uses this sword of the Spirit to destroy enemies.
3.“which is the word of God” – 3 Greek words for word.
a.graphe – the writings, the scriptures as a whole. (2 Tim. 3:16)
b.logos – the message of the writings; the message content; embodies a concept or idea. (John 1:1-4, 14; 17:17)
c.rhema – utterance; word spoken or declared; the declaration of the logos. (ref. Eph. 6:17)
4.(Heb. 4:12) describes how logos affects the spirit realm.
