I.The Sower Sows the Word
A. The Secret of the Kingdom of God
1.(Mark 4:11 NIV) “The secret of the kingdom has been given to you…”
2.(Matt. 13:3-23 MSG) Parable of the sower.
3.Key to the parable of the sower:
a.We are the sowers.
b.The Word of God is the seed.
c.The four different types of ground (wayside, stony ground, among thorns, and good ground) are four conditions of the heart that affect how the seed grows.
d.Only one ground was able to produce and sustain a harvest – good ground.
e.Common denominator – all heard the word.
f.Every believer fits into one of these 4 categories.
B.The Wayside Hearer
1.(Matt. 13:4, 19; Mark 4:15; Luke 8:12 all NKJV/AMP)The wayside hearer was the only scenario of the four where Satan was able to take away the word immediately by force because they didn’t understand it.

b.(Ps. 49:3; 119:97-99, 104, 130) meditation in word
c.(Prov. 1:1-7; 2:1-6) the proverbs
3.What are some of the benefits of understanding?
a.(Matt. 13:10-15) understanding brings healing
b.(Matt. 4:11-13) forgiveness of sins through understanding
c.(Mark 4:23-25 AMP) spiritual understanding
d.(Ps. 111:10; 119:34) changes your walk
e.(Pro. 3:13-18; 4:5-9) wealth, health & long life.
f.(Pro. 6:32-33; 7:7) understanding prevents sexual immorality.
