A. The Secret Power of Imagination
1. Imagination – the faculty or ability to picture things or concepts in your mind not present to the senses. Imagination is a function of the soul (mind, will, intellect, emotions, imagination) where spiritual conception occurs.
a. (ref. Rom. 8:24-25) Hope is positive imagination based on God’s Word.
b. (ref. Eph. 1:18; 2:11-13 NLT) no God = no hope; when there’s hope anxiety and depression emerge.
B. What Do You See?
1. (Luke 11:33-36 AMP) What your natural eyes see is affecting your health. (Prov. 15:30)
a.(Prov. 4:20-22)
2. (Prov. 29:18 KJV) What your spiritual eyes see is also affecting your life and future.
a. (2 Cor. 4:18) how do look at what can’t be seen?
b. (2 Cor. 5:7) faith envisions what God says even though it can’t be seen with the natural eyes yet.
c. (Heb. 11:1) faith turns things hoped into substance. Hope is the pathway to faith.
3. Words and pictures paint images in our mind. Focusing on these images is meditation. Meditation accelerates the transformation of my thinking. (ref. Ps. 1:1-3; Josh. 1:8)
a. (Gen. 13:14-17) Abram/Promise land
b. (Gen. 15:1-4 NKJV, [5-6 AMP]) Abram/child
c. (Gen. 30:37-39 NLT) Jacob makes tree limbs look spotted for cattle to see daily while they drank water.
d. (Jos. 6:1-2) Joshua must see it before he sees it!
e. (Jer. 1:4-12) Jeremiah, what do you see?
