A. The Secret Power of Imagination

1. Imagination – the faculty or ability to picture things or concepts in your mind not present to the senses. Imagination is a function of the soul and spiritual conception occurs there. (Jas. 1:14-15 TPT)

a. yeser – (yaytser) imagination, conception, mind, to frame or to form, thoughts, framework.

b. hagah – meditate, imagine, study, ponder, speak, mutter.

2. Let’s review some scripture about the imagination.

a. (Gen. 11:6 AMP) power of imagination

b. (Ps. 103:14) Your spiritual frame is your imagination.

c. (Isa. 26:3) “Whose mind is stayed on You…”

d. (Josh. 1:8) “…meditate in it day and night…”

~(Ps. 1:1-3 NKJV; 2:1 KJV)

e. (Gen. 6:5; 8:21 both KJV) man’s unrenewed imagination naturally defaults to evil.

~(Eph. 4:17-18) “futility of their mind”

~(2 Cor. 10:3-5 KJV) spiritual warfare is really a matter of taking control of your imagination.

B. Imagination as Hope

1. (Rom. 8:20-22, 24-25) hope (elpis) joyful, confident, expectation of good. Hope has to do with seeing the unseen and the future.

a.(Heb. 11:1) without hope there is no faith!

~Hope is the thermostat to the furnace.

~(1 Cor. 13:13) faith, hope and love.

2. Let’s see some scripture about hope.

a.(Rom. 4:17-21) Abraham in hope believed.

b.(Rom. 5:2-5) hope does not disappoint

c.(Rom. 12:9-12) rejoice in hope

d.(Rom. 15:4, 13) God of hope
