I .The Believer’s Ministry (Mobilizing the Church)

A. 4 Categories of Ministry: Ministry to the Lost

1.(Eph. 4:1 AMP) Every believer is called to the ministry.

2.There are four categories of ministry and all believers are called to the first (3) and some called to the (4th):

a. Ministry to the Lord

~(ref. Matt. 22:37-38) greatest commandment

~(ref. 1 Pet. 2:1-10; Rev. 1:6) royal priesthood that offers spiritual sacrifices.

-Living sacrifice (ref. Rom. 12:1)

-Worship (ref. John 4:23-24)

-Praise (ref. Heb. 13:15)

-Tithing/giving (ref. 2 Cor. 9:6-11)

b.Ministry to the Body

~(ref. Matt. 22:39-40) 2nd commandment

~(ref. Rom. 12:3-18 NLT) serving God by serving God’s people with love.

~(ref. 1 Cor. 12:4-13:3 NLT) we are all called to serve in our local body with our gifts to build up the body.

c.Ministry to the Lost

d. 5-Fold Ministry

3. Ministry to the Lost

a. (2 Cor. 5:9-11, 17-20 AMP) ministry of reconciliation.

~(Matt.1:16-17) fisher of men.

~(Eph. 4:11-12, 16) equipping the saints to for the work of the ministry.

-You work for the LORD! (Eph. 6:5-9 MSG; Col. 3:22-25 MSG)

~(Acts 8:1, 4) the church preached the word.

b. How do I minister to the lost?

#1. (Matt. 5:13-16 MSG) Be salt and light!

-It’s not your responsibility to save anybody. It is your responsibility to live your life as God’s salt and light and to share Christ in love when appropriate.

#2. (2 Cor. 4:3-5) Pray their eyes and ears open to see and hear the truth of the gospel.

#3. (Matt. 9:35-38) Pray the Lord of the harvest send out laborers into His harvest.

(Mark 6:3-5) Family members are often the most difficult to minister to.

-(ref. 2 Pet. 3:1-4 AMP)

#4. Be that laborer that someone is praying would come into their loved one’s life! “Your past misery is now your present ministry.”

4. How to approach unbelievers.

#1. Be friendly and likable (be positive and never negative)!

#2. Be compassionate and sympathetic (never talk negatively about anyone)!

#3. Don’t be weird, deep and over-spiritual!

#4. Don’t debate or argue about the word or anything else for that matter!

#5. Never be ashamed of the Gospel and never compromise your witness!

#6. Pray for opportunities to share your testimony and/or the word, and/or lay hands on the sick when the time is right with the right person(s)
