4 Categories of Ministry: Ministry to the Lord

I The Believer’s Ministry (Mobilizing the Church)
A.Ministry to the Lord
1.(Eph. 4:1 AMP) Every believer is called to the ministry.
2.(Eph. 4:11-16 NLT) 5-fold ministry to equip the body:
(1) to do the work of the ministry and
(2) to build up the church
~Until we all come into unity in our faith and knowledge of Jesus.
~So that we will be mature in the Lord.
3.(Exo. 18:13-26) Old testament model of delegation of the work of the ministry.
a. (v19) Pray for the people;
(v20) Teach God’s Word
(v20) show the people the way to live
(v20) show them the work THEY must do
(v21) select overseers
~Qualifications: capable, fear God, live by the word, hate covetousness.
b. (Acts 6:1-7) new testament model of delegation of the work of the ministry.
4.There are four categories of ministry and all believers are called to the first (3) and some called to the (4th):
a. Ministry to the Lord
b. Ministry to the Body
c. Ministry of Reconciliation
d. 5-Fold Ministry
5. (1 Pet. 2:1-5, 9-12) Ministry to the Lord
a. (Exo. 19:5-6; Rev. 1:6) God’s plan is kingdom priests that minister to the Lord with bloodless sacrifices of worship, praise, and giving.
b. (Matt. 22:36-37) 1st and greatest commandment.
c. (Rom. 12:1) living sacrifice
d. (John 4:23-24) worship
e. (Heb. 13:15 AMP) praise
f. (2 Cor. 9:6-11 AMP) tithing/giving
