I.The Believer’s Authority
A.Paul’s Prayer – Read Eph. 1:15-2:7 AMP
1.Paul’s prayer for the church…
a.(v17) He prayed that God would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done.
b.(v18) And that you would understand why He called you.
~(Rom. 12:2)
c.(v18) And that you would understand how rich an inheritance you have in Him.
~(Eph. 4:17-18 NKJV)
~(Eph. 1:11-12 AMP)
d.(v19) That you would understand His great power (dunamis) ability that is in you.
e.(v20) A sample of this power was demonstrated when He raised Jesus from the dead.
f.(v21) Jesus authority is above all!
g.(v22) God put all things under Jesus feet! His feet are part of His body!
h.(v23) His body possesses the fullness of His power!
~You don’t need this power when you get to heaven!
i.(2:1-5) And you… (Paul makes it personal!)
j.(v6, 7) We are positioned in authority at the right hand of the Father with Jesus!
~We are physically here in the earth to do what Jesus did for all mankind!
