I.Promises of Protection 5 – Truths from Ps 91
A.Promises of Protection (Read Psalm 91 NKJV)
1. (v1-8) “He that dwells in the secret place…”
2. (v9-12) “Because you have made the LORD…your dwelling place…For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”
a.Conditional promise.
~(Matt. 4:1-11) This is the passage Satan misquoted to Jesus in the wilderness temptation.
~Why did Satan leave out “to keep you in all your ways”?
~(Prov. 3:5-8) “…In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
~(Mark 16:17-18) we should not be intentionally drinking deadly things or taking up serpents tempting the Lord.
3.The reality and ministry of angels
a.(Heb. 1:14 NLT) Angels are ministering spirits created by God who serve and worship God, carry out His purposes; communicate His plans to man; protect, defend and keep the heirs of salvation.
