A.What is Grace?
1.Foundation verse: (Rom. 5:17) reigning in life through receiving abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.
2.What is Grace? Grace is God’s power, strength and ability to be who you are born to be, and to do what you are born to do through faith; unmerited favor.
a.Acts 20:24) grace is the heart of the gospel.
~(Gal. 1:6) grace and gospel interchangeable
~Grace is much more than unearned favor!
b.(Eph. 2:8-9) saved by grace through faith.
c.(1 Cor. 15:9-10) Paul’s identity and ability
~(Eph. 4:7 AMP; Rom. 12:3-9; 1 Pet. 4:10-11)
~(Rom. 11:29) gifts and calling of God
d. G.R.A.C.E.God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense
B.Grace Cannot Be Earned but Must Be Found
1.Grace must be found!
a.(Gen. 6:8; 19:19; 32:5; 33:8, 10, 15; 34:11; 39:4; 47:25, 29; 50:4; Exo. 33:12, 13, 16, 17; 34:9; Num. 32:5; Judg. 6:17; Ruth 2:2, 10; 1 Sam. 1:18; 20:3; 27:5; 2 Sam. 14:22; 16:4; Jer. 31:2 all KJV)
2.Where, why and when is grace found?
a.(John 1:1-5, 10-14, 16-17 all KJV; v16 AMP) Grace is found in Jesus. Jesus is grace embodied.
b.Heb. 4:15-16) at the throne of God, to help, in time of need. (daily prayer and fellowship)
c.(1 Pet. 1:13) at the revelation of Jesus
~(2 Pet. 1:2-4 NLT) grace is multiplied in the knowledge of God and Jesus
~(2 Pet. 3:18) growing in grace
d.(2 Cor. 12:7-10) Grace given in human weakness
e.(Jas. 4:1-10; 1 Pet. 5:5-7) God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud.
