A. The Importance of Honoring Mothers
1. Mother’s Day isn’t a biblical holiday but a holiday established over a century ago to honor mothers for the sacrifices they make for their children. The bible teaches us to honor, obey and cherish mothers. Mothering is a job where there is no retirement and usually no acknowledgement.

B.Against All Odds

2. (Gen. 16:1-7; 21:8-21 all NLT) Hagar (the single mother who was rejected by man but not by God) – Ishmael’s mother
3. (Gen. 21:1-7 NLT) Sarah – (the barren mother who held on to the promise of God) – Isaac’s mother
