I.Living in God’s Plans for Your Life

A.Understanding the Importance of a Plan

1.(Prov. 29:18 KJV/NKJV) Where there is no vision or revelation there is no self-restraint.

a.Sight is the ability to see the physical with the eyes; vision is the ability to see the invisible with the heart.

b.Sight is perception of your present; vision is faith in your future.

2.(Phil. 3:13-14 NIV) Vision fulfillment requires the orderly ongoing advancement towards goals and the ultimate achievement of those goals.

a.(Prov. 16:1, 3 AMP) God instructs us to establish goals that lead us to our vision.

b.Goals break vision down into time; daily bite sized increments of vision using proven principles of success.

c.(Luke 14:28-31) If you’re going to fulfill vision you must first sit down, set goals and write a plan.

3.(Heb. 11:1 NIV/NKJV) Faith and Vision are very similar. What is faith? Faith is…

a.…the ability to see the unseen in details and give it substance.

b.…belief in God’s promises

c.…conviction about the future.

d…being certain of that we do not physically see.

e…demands a plan.

f…expressed in planning.

4.(Hab. 2:2-3) The first step to giving the unseen substance is to write it or draw it.  To capture that which exist but can’t yet be seen is planning.  Planning…

a.…is the highest expression of faith in God.

b…is the act of capturing God’s will for your life.

c…is what gives definition to faith.

d…is what pulls the promises out of eternity and puts them into time.

e.…documents vision.

5.(Eccl. 5:3 AMP) Vision, faith, planning and goals

a.Without a vision the people perish; without a plan the vision perishes.

b.Without a vision there is no self-control; without a plan there is no goal-control.

c.Faith without works is dead; vision without planning is useless; planning without action is failure.

d.Faith gives substance to things hoped for; plans make reality of things dreamed of.

e.A dream without a plan and measurable goals will be a nightmare.
