I.Knowing the Father’s Love for You
A. Highly Favored in the Beloved
1.Born-again believers are highly favored in the Beloved.
a. (Eph. 1:3) “in Christ”
~(1 John 4:9-10, 16)
b. (Eph. 1:4 AMPC) “before Him in love.”
c. (Eph. 1:5) “adoption as sons”
~(1 John 3:1-3; 4:17-18) “as He is, so are we in this world.”
~(Rom. 8:15-17; Gal. 4:1-7) son-ship vs. servant
~Jesus came to manifest one name of God – Father.
-(John 17:6, 11, 12, 20-26) The Father loves you with the same love He loves Jesus!
d. (Eph. 1:6) “He made us accepted in the Beloved”
~accepted (charitoo) highly favored. (ref. Lk. 1:28) “Rejoice highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
~beloved (agapao) the loved of God.
2. (Matt. 3:16 ESV) Jesus baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist. (Gen. 8:4, 8-12)
a. (Matt. 3:17) “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
b. (Matt. 4:1-6) Jesus tempted in wilderness by Satan. “If You are the Son of God…” Satan intentionally left out the most important word… “Beloved”
3. David means “Beloved” in Hebrew!
