I. Effective Prayer Vol. 2
A. Praying the Word
1. Prayer is relational communication and fellowship with God based on His Word. Prayer invites heavens intervention into earthly matters, brings eternity into time, and brings the eternal into the physical.
a. The 1st and primary purpose of prayer is to establish and maintain a personal intimate relationship with the Lord.
b. Prayer isn’t trying to get God to do something He hasn’t done. Prayer takes by faith what God has already provided by grace. Prayer is earth giving permission for God’s provision and promise.
2. God has already provided salvation (healing, deliverance, provision, righteousness, etc.) for all mankind at the cross through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
a. (Gen. 1:26) God needs our participation and cooperation to bring to pass His will in our lives.
b. (Matt. 4:3-11) whenever Jesus was confronted with the devil He spoke the word.
c. (1 John 5:14-15 AMP) To pray effectively we must pray in line with God’s will; God’s word is His will.
3. Pray using the Word: (Ps. 107:20)
a. Salvation
~(Ps. 103:1-5) all His benefits
~(2 Cor. 4:3-6; Luke 10:2) the lost
~(Isa. 54:13; Ps. 127:3-5) your children
b. Healing
~(Exo. 15:26; 23:25-26; Isa. 53:4-5 AMP; Matt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:24)
c. Protection
~(Ps. 91)
d. Provision
~(Deut. 28:1-14; Phil. 4:19)
