I.Doctrines of Demos
A. Doctrines of Demons
1. (1 Tim. 4:1-3) doctrines of demons
a. (John 8:44) Satan is the father of lies.
b. (Hos. 4:6) Satan’s strength is our ignorance
c. (John 8:31-32) knowing the truth makes us free.
2. (2 Cor. 11:3-4, 13-15) preaching another Jesus than the Jesus of the gospels or twisting the word is deadly!
a. (Matt. 4:5-7) Satan misquotes Ps. 91 to Jesus.
B. Sovereignty of God Doctrine
1. Sovereign –means independent and supreme authority.
a. God is sovereign, but when it comes to making application of God’s sovereignty it is often dangerously misunderstood and misapplied.
#1 – Misconception – “No one can know what God will
do. He does whatever He wants because He’s God.”
a. This leads to praying prayers like “If it be God’s will…”
b. Truth – God’s will is revealed in His Word.
~You can’t believe, trust or have faith in a God that you don’t know what to expect from Him and what He expects from you.
~“Faith begins where the will of God is known.”
-(1 John 5:14-15 AMP)
-(Mark 11:22-24)
-(Jas. 1:5-8)
-(Eph. 5:17)
c. (Ps. 138:2) God has set limitations on His own sovereignty by His Word.
~(John 1:1)
~(Matt. 24:35)
~(Num. 23:19)
~(Heb. 6:17-18 TPT)
#2 – Misconception – “God is in control of everything and nothing happens unless He wills it or allows it.”
a. Truth – God is not in control of everything and it is not Him that allows everything that happens to happen.
b. God shared His authority and sovereignty with mankind.
~(Gen. 1:26-28)
~(Ps. 8:1-9 NLT)
~(Ps. 115:15-16)
~(John 10:31-36; ref. Ps. 82:6)
c. God needs man’s consent, cooperation and participation to intervene in man’s life outside of judgment.
~(Mark 6:1-6)
~(Deut. 30:19-20 NLT)
~(Eph. 3:20)
~(Rom. 817)
d. God has kept some things exclusively in His authority.
~(Mark 13:32) Jesus return
~(Acts 1:6-7) restoration of the theocratic kingdom
e. God has given mankind exclusively authority over somethings:
~preaching/witnessing the gospel
-(Acts 1:8)
-(Luke 10:1-2)
-(ref. Acts 10)
~Rebuking the devil
-(Jas. 4:7)
-(Mark 16;17)
-(Matt. 10:1, 7-8)
