 I.Being Fully Convinced

A.Being Fully Convinced

1.(Rom. 4:21) “…and (Abraham) being fully convinced that what He (God) had promised He (God) was also able to perform….”

a.Being fully convinced is believing, steadfast, being fully persuaded, having faith, with settled and absolute assurance without doubt, or wavering, that what God says (His Word) is truth despite any and all physical evidence to the contrary.

~(Josh. 24:2-3) God turned an idol worshipping man with an infertile wife into nation.

2.(Rom. 4:16-25 NKJV)

a.(v16 AMP) Inheriting the promise is the outcome of faith and depends entirely on faith.

~Faith = steadfastness: the quality of being resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.

~(Heb. 11:6)

~(Eph. 2:8-9)

b.(v17 AMP) We must have a promise from God. “Faith begins where the will of God is known.”

~The Bible is God’s book of 8810 promises to you!

~(Gen. 12:1-4) God’s promise to Abram and he believed, but between chap. 12 and 16.

-Canaan, famine, to Egypt, sells out Sarai, leaves Egypt very rich, Lot and Abram fall out, Lot taken prisoner in Sodom, Abram delivers Lot, tithes on spoil, sees stars-believes God, God makes covenant.

~(Gen. 16:15-16; 17:1-5, 15-19) God changes their names.

~(Heb. 6:13-19) God cannot lie!

c.(v18) human reason for hope being gone, Abraham in hope believed according to what God promised.

(Heb. 11:1) hope is the framework for faith!

d.(v19) being strong in faith is not considering the circumstances; considering the circumstances weakens your faith.

e.(v20) Eventually, Abraham didn’t waiver at the promise of God, but for the first 24 years he did.

f.(v21-25) This is written for our sakes!
