I. Entering His Rest
A. Today Hear His Voice and Believe
1. “Entering God’s Rest” is having the assurance that what Christ has done in His work of redemption is complete in your life. This “rest” is a place of cooperation with God, and not a place of striving, dead-works or inactivity.
a. The promise land of “rest” is NOT a type of heaven; it is a type and shadow of living in the abundant promises of the kingdom of God for you.
2.(Heb. 3:7-12, 15-16; 4:7, 9-12) Let’s read first.
a. (ch.3:7) Notice the truth that the Bible is the Holy Spirit of God speaking to us. (ref. Ps. 95:7-11)
b. (ch 3:8) Harden heart as in: rebellion – Meribah; trial – Massah
~When we hear God’s word, or see miracles, signs and wonders, and refuse to believe God, God calls our heart hard. A hard heart is a heart gripped in unbelief.
~When we rely on our 5 senses to verify or evaluate God’s word as true, our heart is being hardened.

c. (ch.4:9-11) Did you do any work to be born-again? Did you cleanse yourself of all your sin? No, God did the work, you cooperated by simply believing.
d. (v12) Labor to enter the rest by studying God’s Word and making the decision to believe it!
