A. Hardness of Heart
1. Hardness of heart can stop one from receiving a miracle or walking in the blessing of God. Hardness of heart is being more dominated by and sensitive to other things more than God and His Word. (Ex. Sickness vs. God’s promise of healing.)
a. (Mark 4:5-6, 16-17 AMP) stony heart hearer.
2. Two causes of hardness of heart: #1 sin and #2 identity crisis (not rooted in Christ).
a. (Heb. 3:12-13) hardened through sin.
~(Rom. 6:16, 23 NLT) your sin doesn’t change God’s heart towards you, but it will harden your heart towards God.
3. (Mark 6:35-52 KJV) Jesus feeds the 5000 men and then walks on water.
a. (Mark 6:52 KJV) consider – to study, ponder, deliberate, examine or think upon. (meditate)
b. (Mark 8:1-9, 13-21 all KJV)
c. Whatever you focus on is what you become sensitive to and dominated by; whatever you ignore or neglect you become less sensitive to hardened towards.
