A. Seek the Lord and Prosper
1. (Prov. 6:16-17; 16:18-19) Pride is the greatest of all sins. Sin isn’t destructive because it’s forbidden; sin is forbidden because it’s destructive.
a. Pride – independence from God; exalts one’s own opinion and ways over God’s.
b. Humility – dependence on God; exalts God’s opinion and ways over all others.
2. (Deut. 17:17-20; 2 Chron. 7:14) How to avoid pride.
a. Don’t chase illicit sex or wrong associations
b. Don’t chase money.
c. Seek the Lord
