A. Dead to the Law, Alive to Christ

1. One of the most prevalent themes and principles in the proverbs is righteousness and its promises.

a.(Prov. 8:18-21) Wisdom walks in righteousness

b.(Jer. 23:1-6) Pastors must teach righteousness

2.What is righteousness?

a. Righteousness – total acquittal; clearance from all guilt shame; right standing and right relationship with God. (Justified, just, right, upright)

b. (Rom. 6:14) under grace and not law.

c.Why did God give the Law? (Rom. 5:20 NLT)

~(Luke 9:51-56; 2 Kings 11:2-15 AMP) Law vs. Grace

~(Jas. 2:10; Deut. 28:1-2, 15; Gal. 3:10)

-(Num. 15:32-36) the law kills!

3. (Rom. 7:4-25) Free from the Law
