I. Characteristics of Bible Believing

A.Does Not Require Physical Evidence

1.Foundation text: (Mark 9:23-24 NLT) “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

a.As born-again believers, God has given us access to all of the promises of God by faith at the new birth, but it’s our unbelief that limits our receiving.

~(Mark 11:22-24)

~(Mark 6:1-6)

b.Although we’re believers, there may be unbelief present in our hearts in areas.

~(Num. 14:11) After the 10 plagues, Red Sea crossing, daily manna, water from a rock twice, the children of Israel still didn’t believe.

~(Num. 20:12) Moses

~(Mark 16:9-14 AMP) the disciples

2.Hardness of heart – when we continually rely on our five sense to verify God’s word, promises or as the evidence to truth, our heart is being hardened.

a.(Mark 6:45-52) after feeding the 5,000 men

b.(Mark 8:11-21) after feeding the 4,000 men

~(ref. Matt. 16:4) except for the sign of Jonah

3.True believing does not require a sign or physical evidence as confirmation of God’s Word.

a. (John 20:24-31)

b.(Rom. 10:16-17)

c.(1 Pet. 1:22-25 AMP)
