Intimate Relationship with Jesus

1.(Matt. 7:21-23) “I never knew you…”
a.(John 17:1-3) Eternal life = knowing God and Jesus
b.Know (ginosko) to intimately know in relationship, become well acquainted with; idiom for sexual intercourse between a husband and wife.
c.Knowing God is to be in union with Him having an intimate loving personal relationship that results in bearing fruit.
2.Our relationship with Jesus is likened to a loving marriage.
a.(2 Cor. 11:1-4 NLT) Christ our husband
b.(Eph. 5:21-32 NLT) marriage is a picture of the union of Christ and the church.
c.(1 Cor. 6:15-20 NLT) our body and spirit belong to the Lord.
3.Many Christians receive Christ but never continue to develop relationship with Him that bears fruit.
a.(Heb. 8:6-12 NLT) the new covenant enables everyone to know the Lord for themselves.
b.(1 John 3:4-10 TPT) born-again vs. intimate relationship
c.(1 John 4:6–8) Those born of God AND who know God love. Those who don’t know God don’t love.
d.(1 Pet. 2:2-5 AMP) keep coming to Jesus!
e.(Matt. 11:27-30) yoked to the Lord
f.(2 Cor. 3:17-18 AMP) knowing Jesus will transform into His image from glory to glory.
