A. Winning the Good Fight of Faith (review)
1. (1 Tim. 6:12) “Fight the good fight of faith…”
2. (2 Cor. 10:3-5) spiritual not physical warfare
a. (Acts 10:38)
~(Ps. 107:20)
b. Jesus had to teach, preach and then heal.
~(Matt. 4:23; 9:35)
~(Mark 1:21-23, 38-39)
~(Luke 4:15; 5:1)
c. (Mark 6:1-6) because of their unbelief.
B. Stand in God’s Armor
1. (Eph. 6:10-18) the whole armor of God.
a. (v10) We’re not to be strong in and of ourselves. It’s His power, His might and His armor!
b. (v11) Put on the whole armor of God (7 pieces) in order to stand against the wiles of the devil.
~(Isa. 59:16-17) Jesus wore this spiritual armor.
~wiles – craft, deceit, cunning devices
-(John 10:10) steal, kill and destroy
-(John 8:44) father of lies
-(1 Pet. 5:8-9) resist him steadfast in faith.
-(Col. 2:15 AMP) Satan’s weapons are temptation and deception. He needs your consent, cooperation and participation.
c. (v12) Our battles are spiritual even though the fruit of the problem is physical.
d. (v13) withstand – to set one’s self against, oppose, resist; stand – to make firm, fixed, established.
