I.Understanding the End Times

A.God’s 7,000 Year Timetable

1.(2 Pet. 3:1-13) A key to understanding God’s timetable for end-time Bible prophecy is “with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

2.(Rev. 20:4-6) God has given man a 6000 year lease on Earth after which Jesus will reign and rule for 1000 years.

3.Many numbers in the Bible have deeper prophetic or spiritual significance and can reveal hidden patterns, concepts and biblical truths.

a. 6 = is the number of man

~Man formed on the 6th day

~Goliath – 6 cubits tall, 6 pieces of armor, iron spearhead weighed 600 shekels. (ref 1 Sam. 17:4-7)

~(2 Chron. 9:13) Solomon’s annual gold income

~(Dan. 3:1) Nebuchadnezzar makes gold image

~(Rev. 13:18) the beast 666

~(Gen. 7:6) Noah 600 yrs. old when flood came.

~(Exo. 21:2) servant serves six years

~(Exo. 24:16-18) Moses on Mt. Sinai.

~(2 Chron. 9:18) 6 steps to the gold throne

~(Mark 9:1-7) Jesus on Mt. Moriah transfigured.

b.7 = completion or perfection

~(Gen. 2:1-3) God blessed and rests on day 7.

~(Jos. 6:12-16) Jericho

~(Jude 1:14-15; Heb. 11:5) Enoch

~The book of Revelation numerous 7’s

4.(Isa. 46:9-10) The seven days of Creation prophetically parallel each of the seven millennia of human history.

a. Day 1 (ref Gen. 1:3-5): Light separates from darkness. In the 1st millennium the sins of Adam and Eve separated them from the God of light.

b. Day 2 (ref Gen. 1:6-10): The waters above and the waters below separate. In the 2nd millennium God flooded the earth in judgment.

c. Day 3 (ref Gen. 1:11-13): God created plants with seeds. In the 3rd millennium God makes a lasting covenant to Abraham and his seed.

d. Day 4 (ref Gen. 1:14-19): God made lights fill the sky: the sun, moon, and stars. In the 4th millennium God raised up prophets to give light to Israel, then Jesus as the Light of the world.

e. Day 5 (ref Gen. 1:20-23): God created first living animals. God raised up new creations in the 5th millennium through Christ’s life, death and resurrection.

f. Day 6 (ref Gen. 1:26-28): God created mankind. The 6th millennium is where we now live and God has empowered the Church take authority in the earth.

g. Day 7 (ref Gen. 2:1-3): God rested and in the 7th millennium God will rest the earth and believers will reign and rule with Jesus for 1000 years.
