A. The Mysteries of Heaven

a. Heaven is mentioned over 500 times in the Bible.
~Shamyim – lofty; high
~Ouranos – (pl) high, elevation, the sky

b. (2 Cor. 12:2) third heaven
~1st heaven – atmospheric heaven refers to that blanket of air immediately surrounding our earth in which birds and clouds move.

~2nd heaven – the stellar heaven refers to the outer space that contains the sun, moon, stars and all of the galaxies other than our own.

~3rd heaven – beyond the 1st & 2nd where God resides.
