Your Kingdom Come

I. The Lord’s Prayer
A. Prayer Model or Framework
1. (ref. Luke 11:1) “…Lord, teach us to pray.”
a. Prayer is relational communication with God.
2. (recite Matt. 6:9-13) The Lord’s Prayer
a. “Our Father in heaven” long distance relationship
b. “Hallowed be Your name” the protocol for entry into God’s presence is reverence, honor and praise.

B. Your Kingdom Come (Matt. 6:10)
1. (v10) “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
a. God is the King over all, and He has a domain called the kingdom, and it involves all of creation.
~(Ps. 103:19; 145:13 both TPT; 1 Chron. 29:11-12)
b. kingdom (OT)“rada” (NT)“basileia” rule, authority, dominion.
~The kingdom of God is the government, the rule, the reign, the realm, the reality, the provision and system of God.
c. The main theme of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is God extending His heavenly kingdom to earth through man.
~(Gen. 1:26) “let them have dominion”
d. Jesus’ purpose was twofold: to proclaim the arrival of God’s Kingdom and, through His blood, provide entry to the Kingdom for all who would come. Jesus didn’t teach an escaping earth to heaven gospel He taught that the Kingdom of heaven can be here on earth in you through Him.

2. Within God’s kingdom there are house rules or guidelines by which His kingdom is designed to operate.
a. All kingdoms including the kingdom of God have: a king, a territory, a constitution, citizens, laws, privileges, a code of ethics, an army, an economic system, and a social culture.
b. There is also an opposing kingdom called the kingdom of darkness that is headed by Satan, which the system the world operates within, that excludes God.
~Satan desires to get his house rules into God’s house. (ref. Matt. 12:25)
3. The only way God’s kingdom comes and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven in this dispensation of the church age is through man’s submission to God’s system or kingdom ruler-ship. This is called “discipleship” which requires total submission to the Lordship of Jesus.
a. (Rev. 20:4, 6) the physical millennial reign of Christ on earth is coming.
b. We enter the kingdom through conversion but we operate or have authority in the kingdom without becoming a disciple.
~(John 3:3-7) entry through new birth
~(Matt. 28:18-20) make disciples
~(Matt. 6:33; Rom. 14:7-9) submitting your entire life to the Lord Jesus.
