I. The Faith of Abraham (ref. Rom. 4:13-21)
A. Faith Comes Hearing God’s Word
1. (Rom. 4:13-15) “…heir of the world…through the righteousness of faith.”
a. Heir of the world through righteousness of faith and not works of the law.
b. Faith is made void and the promises become of no effect when rely on keeping the law for the blessings.
2. Galatians 3 explains the importance of hearing God’s word to receive the Spirit and miracles. (ref. Rom. 10:17)
a. (Gal. 3:1-9 NIV) The gospel was preached to Abraham and he believed. (ref. Gen. 15)
b. (Gal. 3:10-18 NKJV) the law brings a curse but Christ has redeemed us from it by believing in Him.
c. (Gal. 3:19-20 AMP) What is the purpose of the law? To expose men to their sin so they recognize the need of a Savior.
d. (Gal. 3:21-29 NKJV) we are all sons of God and receive all the promises by faith in Jesus.
