A.The Blessing of Abraham Review
1.(Gal. 3:13-14, 29; Gen. 24:1) Foundation verses
a.(Gen. 12:4-5) Every time Abram disobeys God or doesn’t seek or wait on God about his situation, trouble comes.
b.(Gen. 12:10-16) it looked like Abram suffered no consequences and only fared well from his actions in Egypt.
B.Genesis 16 Hagar and Ishmael
1.(Gen. 16:1-6) Abram acts on what Sarai says and not what God says.
a.Very similar to Adam and Eve’s situation.
b.It’s always a bad idea to help God with his plan.
2.(Gen. 16:7-12) 1st mention of “The Angel of Lord”
3.(Gen. 16:13-16) Running ahead of God never speeds things up, but slows things down.
