I.The Blessing of Abraham
A.Blessed in All Things
1. (Gal. 3:13-14, 29) redeemed from the curse and heirs of the promise.
2. (Gen. 24:1) “…the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” (Deut. 28:1-14 MSG; Ps. 103:1-5)
a. Provision: (Gen. 13:1-2 AMP) God made Abram rich.
~(Gen. 12:11-16) Abram lied about Sarai but God still blessed him.
b. Youth Renewal: Sarai’s youth was restored, she was so beautiful at 65 that Abram **lied saying she was his sister Pharaoh took her for his harem, God plagued Pharaoh for Sarai’s sake.
~(1 Pet. 3:6) daughters of Sarah
~(Gen. 20:2, 14-18) Abraham lied again about Sarah (90) being his sister, she was taken by Abimelech.
~**non-imputation of sin.
c. Enemies Defeated: Lot taken captive by 4 kings who came against 5 kings. (Gen. 14:14-16)
~1st mention of the bread and wine
~1st mention of the tithe (tithing is your response to the revelation that God is your Source of victory and not YOU!)
d. Longevity: (Gen. 21:5-7) Abraham (100) and Sarah (90) conceive Isaac despite mistake with Hagar!
~Sarah (127) dies; Abraham (137) remarries and has 6 more sons. (Gen. 25:1-2)
~Abraham’s death (Gen. 25:7-8 AMP)
