A. The Purpose and Power of Sex
1. Last week we read King Solomon’s wisdom and warnings about sex in Proverb 5, but ultimately he didn’t follow his own Godly wisdom.
a. (1 Kings 11:1-4, 11) Solomon’s addiction to women cost him the Kingdom.

2. God calls anything sin that keeps you from being, doing and having what He’s created you to be, do and have and hurts or destroys others. But sexual immorality is in a class of its own.

3. God’s purpose for sex is 3-fold and exclusively for the marriage covenant between a husband (man) and wife (woman).
P.O.P. – Procreation, Oneness and Pleasure.
a. Procreation
b. Oneness – to unify the husband and wife; spirit, soul and body. God could have chosen other methods to procreate but He chose sexual intercourse because He wants covenant, intimacy and unity between the husband and wife.
~Marriage is a covenant that is sealed by the shedding of a virgin’s blood during her first sexual experience with her husband.
~God’s intention for sex is first spirit, then soul and finally body.
