A. Much More to Grace than Unmerited Favor
1.Foundation verse: (Rom. 5:17) reigning in life
2.(Acts 20:24) “…the gospel of the grace of God.”
a.The good news of the gospel is the grace of God.
b.(Gal. 1:6-9) There is no other gospel than grace!
c.(Rom. 1:16) the gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation.
d.(Eph. 2:4-10 NKJV/AMP) salvation by grace through faith.
~(Eph. 1:3-7) the riches of His grace
3.(Acts 20:32) the word of grace which is able to: (1) build you up; (2) give you an inheritance
a.(Heb. 13:9) establish our hearts by grace.
B. What is the Grace of God?
1.G.R.A.C.E. -God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense
a.(John 1:1-5, 10-14, 16-17 all KJV)
~(v16 AMP)
~Jesus is God’s grace embodied
2.(1 Pet. 4:10-11) good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
a.Grace is God’s ability working in our lives.
3.(2 Cor. 12:7-10) Paul’s thorn in the flesh.
a.Grace – God’s power and strength in our human weakness.
~(Rom. 5:20-21; 6:1-2, 14) Grace gives us dominion over sin’s power.
4.(1 Cor. 15:9-10 NIV) Paul’s apostleship by grace.
a.(Eph. 4:1-2, 7 AMP; Rom. 12:3-8 NIV) our gift, calling and vocation is by grace.
b.Grace – God’s power and ability to be who we’re called to be and do what we’re called to do.
5.Grace is God’s, unearned favor, strength, power and ability to be and to do accessed by faith.
