I.Refocus

A.(Review) Discipleship – the Journey of Spiritual Growth

1.As born-again believers in the body of Christ we all have a common, corporate mission in life and it’s the same mission Jesus had to seek and save the lost.

a.(2 Cor. 5:18) Every believer is called to the ministry of reconciliation.

b.(Eph. 4:11-12) the 5-fold ministries purpose to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body.

c.(Matt. 28:18-20) the Great Commission.

2.One of the responsibilities of the 5-fold ministry is to create systems and environments conducive to spiritual development and maturity so we can all bear good fruit.

a.Know God,Get the lost – saved

Our services, work, school

b.Find Freedom, Get the saved – pastored

Our small groups, Destiny university, our services

c.Discover Destiny, Get the pastored – discipled

Level Up Membership Class, small groups, our services.

d.Make a Difference. Get the discipled mobilized

Serve on a DTeam, host a small group, at work, at school

B.(Mark 16:15-18) Great Commission – Preach the gospel!

1.(Rom. 1:16-17) What is the Gospel?

a.gospel –(euaggelion) good news of Christ.

b.power – (dynamis) ability to perform

c.salvation (soteria/sozo) is forgiveness of sins, healing, deliverance and prosperity.

d.righteousness – (dikaiosyne)justified; in right standing with God.

2.The gospel of Christ conveys two main things: the grace of God and the righteousness of God. (Rom. 5:17)

a.You may know what grace and the gift of righteousness are, but are you reigning in life?

b.What is grace? God’s unearned, undeserved and unmerited favor.God’s preferential treatment.

(Rom. 11:6) grace is the opposite of works
(Acts 20:24) the gospel of the grace of God
(Gal. 1:6-9) the grace of Christ
(John 1:14, [16 AMPC], 17)Jesus is grace embodied.

c.What is righteousness? Acquittal; clearance from all guilt; right standing and right relationship with God. (Justified, just, right)

(2 Cor. 5:21) Jesus became our sin so we could be His righteousness.
(Rom. 5:19-21) death reigns through sin and grace reigns through righteousness.
