I.Living in God’s Will for Your Life
A.Being vs. Doing, Going or Having
1.(2 Cor. 5:14-18) The new testament concept of the will of God must be understood in terms of “BEING” versus “doing, going and having.” (Phil. 2:13 AMP)
2.(John 15:4-8 TPT) The will of God is found, followed and fulfilled in being united to Christ and you walk in the light of it in relationship with Him.
a.(Rom. 8:29 AMP) The will of God for you is to be conformed to the image of Christ and manifest Christ’s glory regardless of your circumstances.
~(Col. 1:26-28 GNT) Great mystery – Christ in you the hope of glory!
~The tabernacle of Moses in the OT; Jesus; and now the Body of Christ.
B.Dead to Sin and Alive in Christ
1.(Rom. 11:33- [v36 AMP] -12:2) The will of God is known through relationship with Christ as we present our bodies a living sacrifice and renew our minds to God’s Word. (Explain the fall of man: spirit, soul & body)
2.(Gen. 1:26-27; 2:7, 16-17 KJV) Adam and Eve sinned and died spiritually (reborn spiritually into death).
a.(Rom. 5:12 AMP) Everyone is born into sin/death
b.(Eph. 2:1-5 AMP) All of us were dead in sin under the influence of the devil.
c.(John 8:41-44) Satan influenced us to sin through our un-regenerated heart (spirit/soul) and our body simply followed along and reflected our hearts.
~(Matt. 15:19) sin comes from the heart
3.(John 3:3-6) born again of the Spirit
~(1 Cor. 6:9-11) unrighteous vs. righteous
~(Col. 2:11-13; 3:1-10) raised with Christ
~(Rom. 6:1-23 NLT) dead to sin, alive to Christ
