I.Ephesians 2:4-10
Outline – The theme of Ephesians 2 is God’s Work.
1. (v1-3) Sins work against us.
2. (v4-7) God’s work for us.
3. (v8-9) God’s work in us.
4. (v10) God’s work through us.
5. (v11-22) God’s work among us.
A. God’s Work for Us (Chap. 2: v4-7 AMPC)
1. (v4 AMPC)
a. His mercy – we don’t get the punishment we deserve. Grace is the we do get the blessing we don’t deserve

b. His love (Rom. 5:6-11; 8:35-39)
2. (v5 AMPC)
a. He resurrected us with the very life of Christ.
b. by grace (God’s Riches at Christ Expense)
3. (v6 AMPC)
a. He raised us and gave us joint seating with Christ now and eternally.

4. (v7 AMPC) He did this to demonstrate His grace.
B. God’s Work in Us (Chap. 2: v8-9)
1. (v8) Saved by grace through faith
a. (Tit. 2:11 NIV) Grace is what God gives to everyone.
b. (Gal. 2:16, 20 both KJV; Rom. 12:3) Faith in God comes from God.
2. (v9) no works can save you or maintain your salvation.
C. God’s Work Through Us (Chap. 2:10 NLT/AMPC)
1. workmanship (poiema)
2. Born-again not by but for predestined good works.
3. Walking in the good works brings the good life.
