I.Partnership with God
1. (Luke 11:1) “Lord, teach us to pray…”
a.Jesus and John both taught their disciples, so we too must be taught to pray properly and effectively.
b.Definition: Prayer is relational communication and fellowship with God based on the Word. Prayer invites heaven into earthly matters, it brings eternity into time, and brings the eternal into the physical.
~The 1st and primary purpose of prayer is to establish and maintain a personal intimate relationship with the Lord.
c.God is owner of earth but man is the steward.
2.(1 Cor. 3:5-9) God’s power as owner combined with man’s authority as steward is the partnership that changes things in the earth. (2 Chron. 7:14)
a.(Gen. 1:26-28; Ps. 8:2-8: Ps. 115:16) God (Sovereign) is owner but man (sovereign) is in dominion and authority over the earth.
b.(2 Cor. 4:4 NLT) Man committed high treason against God and forfeits his dominion to the devil.
~(John 8:44) Satan is a murderer and a liar. He has led and influenced mankind with lies about God and life to steal, kill and destroy them.
c.(Eze. 22:29-30; Isa. 59:14-17) Jesus is the man.
~God had to come to earth as a man to have authority.
~God’s power + Man’s authority = Partnership/Impact
~God’s grace + Man’s faith = Partnership/Impact
d.(Matt. 28:18-20) Everything Adam lost in the garden Jesus took back at the cross and assigned it back to believers. “Go therefore…”
~(Acts 8:26-30) Philip goes to an Ethiopian.
~(Acts 9:10-19) Ananias goes to Saul.
~(Acts 10:26-30) An angel tells Philip to go.
3.(2 Cor. 5:20 thru 6:1 NLT) We are Christ personal representatives and partners with God’s power and Jesus’ authority.
a.Do you think the Father would hear and answer Jesus’ prayer?
~(John 16:23-28; 17:6-23 all TPT)
