I. Characteristics of Bible Believing
A. True Believing Looks Only to Jesus
1. Foundation text: (Mark 9:17-29 NLT) “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
a. (Matt. 21:22) “…believing you will receive.”
2. Looking Only to Jesus
a. “Looking only to Jesus” means to focus on and believe in who Jesus is, His love for you, what He has accomplished at the cross, and His word over any circumstances, past experiences, symptoms, conditions, physical evidence, opinions, expertise or authorities.
b. (John 3:12-18 NIV) Jesus explains to Nicodemus the new birth experience and a key characteristic to believing – looking only to Jesus.
