I. Carnally Minded vs. Spiritually Minded
A. Carnally Minded vs. Spiritually Minded (review)
1. (Rom. 8:5-7) carnally minded vs. spiritually minded.
a. (ref. 1 Thess. 5:23) You are spirit, you possess a soul, and you live in a body.
b. (ref. John 6:63) life is from the Spirit
c. (ref. 2 Cor. 5:16-18) new creation in Christ
d. (ref. Jas. 1:22-25 GNT) God’s Word is the mirror.
B. Acknowledge, Renew and Release
The Christian life isn’t a process of getting from God; it is a process of acknowledging God’s finished work in Christ, renewing your mind to what is in you and releasing it by faith.
1. Acknowledge
a. (Phile. 6) Your faith becomes effective, productive, and operative by acknowledging every good thing in you (your spirit) in Christ.
b. (1 John 4:17b) Everything God is and has for you is in your born-again spirit right now!
2. Renew
a. (Rom. 12:1-2) All transformation in life is the result of the mind renewal process.
b. (Eph. 4:17-24 AMP) Put on the new man.
c. (Col. 3:1-3, 9-10 AMP) not carnality but Christ
3. Release
a. (Prov. 4:20-24) I release what’s in my heart by speaking what I believe.
b. (Prov. 15:4; 18:20-21 all AMP)
