I. Can I Lose My Salvation?

A. Play Spirit, Soul & Body video. (Let’s pause it at each break for discussion.)

1. (John 4:24) God is Spirit and He relates to mankind through their spirit.

2. (1 Cor. 6:17 AMP) Your spirit is perfect and righteous just like Jesus.

a. (2 Cor. 5:21) Jesus became sin so we could be righteous.

b. (Eph. 4:23-24) the new man, true righteousness and holiness.

c. (Eph. 1:13-14) Your spirit has been sealed with the Holy Spirit until the redemption of the purchased possession (your new body and renewed soul).

d. (Eph. 1:7; Col. 2:13) All of the born-again believers’ sin is forgiven past, present and future.

3. (1 John 2:1-2) You can sin in your body and mind but not in your spirit.

a. (1 John 3:6-9) Your born-again spirit cannot sin neither can sin enter into your spirit.

b. (Rom. 3:23) We all sin and are falling short of the glory of God.

~(Rom. 14:23) “…for whatever is not from faith is sin.”

~(Jas. 2:10) “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.”

~(Jas. 4:17) “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

4. If all of our sin is forgiven why not continue to sin?

a. (Rom. 3:8; 6:1, 15) Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid!

b. (Rom. 6:1, 16) Paul gave two reasons we should live holy

c. Must I confess every sin I commit to put them “under the blood” after I’m born-again according to 1 John 1:9?

~No, that’s not practical or possible!
