I. Accessing God’s Power

A.​The Importance of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit (review)

1.​(ref. Acts 1:8) The baptism in the Holy Spirit is the gateway to the miracle working power of God.

a.​Jesus didn’t perform any miracles, preach or teach to anyone until He was filled with the Holy Spirit.

b.​Jesus told the disciples after all they saw to wait in Jerusalem for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

c.​Some reasons Jesus gave for receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit in John 14-16.

~Empowers you to be My witness.
~Gives you the ability to do the same works and greater works than Jesus did.
~He’s the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby
~Teach you all things; remind you what Jesus said.
~Guides you into truth and tell you things to come.

B.​The Spiritual Game-Changing Superpower

1.​In the Bible the baptism of the Holy Spirit is consistently accompanied with the spiritual game-changing superpower – speaking in other tongues.

2.​Why do I call speaking in other tongues – the spiritual game-changing superpower?

a.​(Rom. 8:26-27) our own prayers are limited to our thinking but not the Holy Spirit prayers in tongues.
