I.Effective Fervent Prayer

A. Meditation

1. The Bible teaches that our lives move in the direction of our most dominant thoughts. If we’re going to change our lives, we must first change our thoughts.

a. (Prov. 23:7) “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”

2. hagah – meditate, imagine, study, ponder, speak, mutter.

a. meditate – to think deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with muttering.

b. (Ps. 1:1-3) “…in His law he meditates day and night…”

~(Ps. 2:1 KJV) meditating is imagining.

c. (Josh. 1:8) “…meditate in it day and night…”

d. (Ps. 5:1-2) meditation is a type of prayer.

~(Isa. 26:3) “Whose mind is stayed on You…”

3. Imagination – the faculty or ability to picture things or concepts in your mind not present to the senses. The imagination is where spiritual conception occurs.

a. yeser – (yaytser) imagination, conception, mind, to frame or to form, thoughts, framework.

b. (Gen. 11:6 AMPC) the secret power of imagination.

c. (Ps. 103:14) Your spiritual framework is your imagination. It’s the way you see life that will determine the life you live.

d. (Jas. 1:14-15 AMPC) In the same way sin is conceived in the imagination and brings forth death, health, prosperity and life can be conceived in the imagination.
