I. The Secret Power of Worship and Praise
Foundation verse: (John 4:23) But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
a. worship – proskyneo – to kiss the hand, in a token of reverence.
~It’s literally means how your dog greets you when you come home.
b. The largest of the 66 books of the Bible is the book of Psalms with 150 chapters written mostly by King David.
~(ref. Acts 13:22) David… a man after my own heart…
A. Why We Worship and Praise God
1. God tells us to. (Ps. 150:1-6 NIV)
2. Praise is our purpose. (1 Pet. 2:9 NIV)
3. For who He is. (Ps. 145:3 MSG)
4. For what He’s done. (Luke 19:37-40 MSG)
5. Protocol for entering God presence. (Ps. 100:1-5 NIV)
6. Praise confuses and stops the enemy. (Ps. 8:2 NIV)
7. Worship changes everything. (Ps. 18:3 NLT)

B.Worship and Praise Breaks Chains of Bondage
1. (Acts 16:16-31 NIV) Paul and Silas stripped, beaten in public and thrown in prison started praying and praising!
