A. A Lifestyle of Prayer (7 “P’s” of Prayer)
1. The purpose of prayer.
2. The priority of prayer.
3. Prayer should be perpetual.
4. Find a dedicated place of prayer.
5. Have a plan of prayer.
6. Pray with energy and power.
7.Relate to the Persons of prayer.

1. (Luke 11:1 NIV) Jesus gave the disciples a prayer model, outline or framework for prayer.
a. (ref. Matt. 6:9-13 KJV) Let’s say it!
C.The Lord’s Prayer Model (Matt. 6:9-13)
1.“Our Father in heaven”
a. Connect with God relationally.
~(John 1:12 NIV) Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
~(Rom. 8:15 NLT) So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you have received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.”
2.“Hallowed be Your Name”
a.Worship His Name.
~(Prov. 18:10) The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
b. Some OT names of God.
Righteousness (Tsidkenu)Peace (Shalom)
Healer (Rapha) There (Shammah)
Sanctifier (M’keddish) Banner of Victory (Nissi)
Shepherd (Raah) Provider (Jireh)
3. “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
a.Pray His agenda first.
~(Matt. 6:33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
~(Luke 12:31 LB) He will always give you all you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
b. Spend some time focusing on what God is focused on. His priorities include:
~The lost
~Those in authority- parental, spiritual, governmental, work-related, school.
~The poor, widows and orphans
~The church
~Freedom for those in bondage
4. “Give us this day our daily bread”
a.Everyday depend on Him for everything.
~(Ps. 121:1-2 NLT) I look up to the mountains – does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth.
b. 10 Prayer Focuses:
~Faith Life Marriage/Dating Life
~Family Life Work/School Life
~Ministry Life Financial Life
~Health Life Social Life
~Attitude Life Emotional/Mental Life
5. “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.”
a.Keep your heart right with God and people.
~(Eph. 4:31-32 NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
~(Rom. 12:18 NIV) If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
6. “And do not (allow us to be lead) into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.”
a.Engage in spiritual warfare.
~(1 Pet. 5:8 NIV) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
~(Jas. 4:7) Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
7. “For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and Glory forever.”
a.Express faith in God’s ability.
~(Jer. 32:17 NIV) Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.
