A. Righteousness by Faith the Power of the Gospel
1. (Heb. 8:12) the total forgiveness of sin also known as the as the gift of righteousness is the clause that makes the new covenant work.
a. (Isa. 54:7-10, 14, 17) Because of Jesus, God has made a covenant of kindness with you, and no weapon formed against you can prosper when you are established in His righteousness.
2. (Rom. 1:16-17) the centerpiece and power of the gospel is the free gift of righteousness through believing in Jesus Christ.
3. (Rom. 3:19-28 NLT) Righteousness under the new covenant is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by the works of the law.
a. (1Tim. 1:8-10) the purpose of the law.
b. (Gal. 2:16, 21; 3:9-14; 5:4 all NLT) Seeking righteousness by the law actually puts you under the curse. Righteousness by faith gives us access to the blessing of Abraham.
4. (Heb. 10:1-14 NLT) Jesus has made you perfectly righteous forever.
