I. Will Christians Face Judgment?
A. The Tribulation Period
1. After the Rapture of the church all born-again believer will be in heaven for 7 years while the Tribulation Period is taking place on earth. In scripture called the Day of Wrath; the Wrath to come; the 70th week of Daniel. Tribulation is made up of three judgment phases:
a. The opening of the six seals. (ref. Rev. 6)
b. The blowing of the trumpets (ref. Rev. 7-9)
c. The pouring of the bowls (ref. Rev. 16)
2. Also characterized by the rise of the unholy trinity (Satan, the Beast, & the False Prophet), and the Mark of the Beast, ending with the battle of Armageddon.
a. Pre-tribulation rapture (1 Thess. 1:10; 5:8-11)
B. The Millennial Reign of Christ
1. (Rev. 20:1-10) the Millennium
a. (Eph. 1:9-10) the purpose of the Millennium is for Jesus to come back to establish His kingdom over all the and join the heavenly and earthly realms together.
b. (Matt. 6:10) the kingdom will have fully come
c. (Acts 1:6-7; 3:19-21) times of restoration of all things.
2. During the Millennium the kingdom of God will be openly manifested worldwide, affecting every sphere of life: physical, political, social, agricultural, economic etc.
a. (Isa. 2:2-4; 9:6-9; 11:6-10; 51:3-6; 65:18-25 all NLT)
(Amos 9:11-15; Eze. 36:33-36; 47:6-12 all NLT) earth like Eden
(Ps. 72:11; Dan. 7:13-14, 27 all NLT) government rule
3. Jesus will rule in partnership with resurrected saints:
a. (Matt. 19:28; Luke 19:17-19; Rev. 2:26-27)
b. Two types of people will be on the earth:
~The redeemed who were raptured
~The unsaved who resisted the Antichrist and survived the tribulation. They can be saved, and then populate the millennial earth. (ref. Isa. 4:3; 10:20; 11:11; 49:6; 65:8; 66:19; Jer. 31:2; Eze. 20:38-42; 36:36; Amos 9:9-10; Joel 2:32; Zech. 12:14; 13:8; 14:16)
