I.Winning the Good Fight of Faith

A. Winning the Good Fight of Faith

1. (1 Tim. 6:12) “Fight the good fight of faith…”

a. Simple definition of faith is right believing.

b. (Rom. 10:17) “…faith comes by hearing…”

c. (Hos. 4:6) The primary reason for not winning the faith fight is a lack of knowledge of God’s Word.

~You can’t have faith beyond your knowledge of God’s Word.

d. (Heb. 4:2) The 2nd reason we don’t win the faith fight is we don’t believe the word we hear.

~(Matt. 21:21-22) believing = receiving; not believing = not receiving.

2. (2 Cor. 10:3-5 AMP) spiritual not physical warfare

a. (Rom. 8:5-6) spiritual vs. natural mindset

~(1 Cor. 2:4-5) God’s vs. human wisdom

~(Jas. 1:5-8) doublemindedness

b. (John 6:63) God’s word is spirit and life.

~(Mal. 3:6; Acts 10:34; Heb. 13:8; Jas. 1:17)

B. Stand in God’s Armor

1. (Eph. 6:10-18) the whole armor of God.

a. (v10) We’re not to be strong in and of ourselves.  It’s His power, His might and His armor!

b. (v11) Put on the whole armor of God! (7 pieces)

~(Isa. 59:16-17) Jesus wore this same spiritual armor.

c. (v12) Our battles are spiritual even though the fruit of the problem is physical.

~(Col. 2:15 AMP) The devil’s only weapons are temptation and deception.

d. (v13) withstand – to set one’s self against, oppose, resist; stand – to make firm, fix, establish.
