A. Being Born-Again and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit
1.Being born-again and the baptism in the Holy Spirit are two separate experiences.
a. (John 3:3-7 TPT) natural birth vs spiritual birth
~(1 Pet. 1:23 AMP) God’s Word is His seed.
~(John 6:63) Jesus’ words are spirit and life.
~(Rom. 10:9-10 NIV) how we get saved
b. (Eph. 1:13-14 AMP) sealed with the Holy Spirit at the new birth.
c. (John 20:19-22) the disciples get born again and receive the Holy Spirit.
2. (Luke 24:49 AMP) Jesus tells disciples to wait for the promise of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
a. (Acts 1:4-5, 8) promise of the baptism with the Holy Spirit
~(Matt. 3:16 – 4:1) Jesus water baptized, Spirit filled and led.
~(Acts 8:4-8, 12-17, 36-38) born-again by receiving the word, water baptized and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
~(Acts 10:44-48) believed, baptized in the Holy Spirit, and water baptized.
~(Acts 19:1-6) believed, water baptized and spirit-filled.
3. (Luke 11:8-13) simply ask the Father to baptize you and receive it by faith.
