I.Success God’s Way

A.The Abrahamic Covenant

1.Foundation Scripture: (Deut. 8:18) “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

a. The covenant that God wants to establish is the covenant of Abraham. (Gen. 12:1-3)

b. Notice the 5 “I will’s” of the blessing of Abraham. This lets us know that it is a covenant of grace.

2. Is this covenant relevant to me as a new covenant believer under grace? Yes!  (Gal. 3:13-14, 29)

a. Eph. 1:11:  As a born-again believer you have received your inheritance!

b. Rom. 4:13, 16:  You are an heir of the world by grace through faith so that the promise is SURE to all the seed!  “sure” – unshakable, reliable, constant, guaranteed

3. God has always delivered the children of Israel out of bondage in the past through the Abrahamic Covenant because it is fail-proof.

a. (Heb. 6:13-18) “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself…”

~Gen. 15:8-12, 17-18:  God cuts the covenant with Jesus (the substitute for all mankind) while man RESTS! (Exodus 13:21)

b. God makes Abraham, Isaac and Jacob rich in wealth, health and posterity because of the covenant and not according to their actions or surrounding circumstances.

~Gen. 13:2 AMP:  God makes Abraham rich.

~Gen. 21:2:  God gives them children in old age.

~Gen. 25:7-8 AMP:  Abraham lives 175 years.

c. The children of Israel set free from slavery because of the covenant of Abraham.

~Exo. 1:8-14:  The Israelites in slavery.

~Exo. 2:23-24:  God remembers His covenant even when His people didn’t remember Him.

~Exo. 3:5-12:  God calls Moses to deliver the people.

~Exo. 12:  God delivers them from Egypt by the body and blood of the lamb (Jesus).

~Exo. 12:35-36:  God makes them all rich in one day!

4. God brought the children of Israel into the promise land based on His covenant and not their efforts.  But God’s requirement was that they would acknowledge Him for it and not themselves.

a. Deut. 6:10-12

b. Deut. 7:6-9, 13

c. Deut. 8:7-18

d. Deut. 9:1-6

5. The purpose of the prosperity is so we can tell others of His covenant of GRACE!  That He will provide for mankind and we don’t have to take care of ourselves.
