A. Possessing Your Promise Land
1. (2 Cor. 1:20; 1 Tim. 6:12; Matt. 11:12) Canaan represents living in the promises and provision of God. It is not heaven because giants, enemies and problems are there that must be faced and defeated by faith.
2. (Heb. 3:19) unbelief kept them out!
B. Moses’ Generation vs. Joshua’s Generation
1. (Jos. 2:.1, 8-11) The inhabitants of Canaan were afraid of the Israelites, yet Moses’ generation didn’t possess the land, why? (Give verbal quiz about Moses’ spies)
2. 10 Basic principles of faith for possessing your promise land.
#1 (Num. 13:27-29) God and His promises are bigger than all your problems.
~Faith is knowing and believing God and His Word.
#2 (Num. 13:30) Faith takes action.
~Faith without works is dead.
#3 (Num. 13:30) Speak your faith.
~Align your words with God’s Word.
#4 (Num. 13:31) Have faith in God, His love for you and ability in you.
~Know who you are, what you have and what you can do in Christ!
#5 (Num. 13:32) Faith believes God and His Word, not what people say, or the situation looks like.
~Walk by faith and not by sight!
#6 (Num. 13:33) Your enemy sees you like you see yourself!
~See yourself as God sees you!
#7 (Num. 14:6-9) Faith looks to Jesus knowing He is fighting for you!
#8 (Jos. 1:6-8) Faith is strong and courageous.
~Be strong and very courageous (3X)
#9 (Jos. 1:5, 9) Faith knows God will never leave nor forsake you!
#10 (ref. Jos. 6) Faith praises God for the victory in advance!
